Access to major online platforms, including X, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and WhatsApp, has been restricted across multiple networks in Turkiye.

According to global internet monitor Netblocks. The restrictions coincided with calls for rallies by the main opposition Republican People’s Party (CHP) following police barricades around their headquarters in Istanbul.

Reports from Turkiye’s Freedom of Expression Association indicate that access issues began at 20:45 GMT on Sunday, with bandwidth for these platforms being deliberately throttled.

The Access Providers Union, which oversees the implementation of internet blocking decisions, has not yet responded to inquiries regarding the restrictions.
