Ishaq Dar highlights Pakistan’s efforts to eradicate Islamophobia at UN
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has forcefully presented Pakistan’s position on important global issues like Islamophobia, Palestine and Kashmir at the United Nations, saying that the resolution to celebrate the International Day against Islamophobia was possible only due to Pakistan’s efforts, which has been appreciated globally.
Dar while addressing a news conference at the Pakistani mission in New York said that this resolution is a symbol of the collective resolve of the international community against Islamophobia.
He also said that Pakistan will continue to raise its voice at the global level for a peaceful solution to long-standing issues like Palestine and Kashmir. He condemned the ongoing Israeli atrocities in Gaza and said that today’s Gaza has become a graveyard of human rights laws.
While addressing the Palestine Conference at the United Nations, Ishaq Dar demanded that an immediate and permanent ceasefire be declared in Gaza and also humanitarian aid and food be ensured. He said that Israel’s war crimes should be punished and crimes against humanity should be stopped.
Ishaq Dar welcomed France’s decision to recognize the Palestinian state and said that the failure to resolve the Palestinian issue is not just a political failure but there are many deeper reasons behind it, which cannot be ignored.
Later, in a news conference, Ishaq Dar said that the recent meeting with the US Secretary of State was very useful, in which bilateral trade, tariffs, and investment in the mineral sector were also discussed. He revealed that he had spoken to Secretary of State Mark Rubio on the phone today as well.
Ishaq Dar clarified that the ceasefire is being implemented between India and Pakistan. He, simultaneously sent message to India through friendly countries that negotiations will only be possible on a comprehensive and serious basis.
However, he warned that Pakistan is on alert in view of the continuous contradictory statements by India, and if India stops Pakistan’s water or tries to divert it, it will be considered a declaration of war.
He added that the Pakistan Army, led by Field Marshal General Asim Munir, is at the forefront of peace efforts in the region.
Dar also claimed that US President Donald Trump had repeatedly mentioned measures to mediate in the Pakistan-India tension and stop the war, and on this basis, Pakistan nominated President Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize.
The Deputy Prime Minister’s stance is an expression of Pakistan’s determination to not only continue to raise its voice on human rights issues like Islamophobia, Kashmir and Palestine at the global level, but also to play every possible role for peace and stability in the region.
