PPP, ANP, JUI decline to attend APC called by KP govt tomorrow
The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Awami National Party (ANP) and Jamiat Ulema Islam-F (JUI-F) have decided not to participate in the All Parties Conference (APC) called by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government tomorrow.
Announcing the boycott on Wednesday, President of the PPP Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Shah Bacha said that the government was non-serious and this all parties conference was just a show.
If the government had been serious, it would have discussed the law and order situation and other issues many times before, he remarked.
Bacha said that the provincial government should pay attention to public issues rather than focusing on its sit-ins and protests.
The Pakistan People’s Party will not participate in the APC to be held tomorrow, he declared.
Meanwhile, the Awami National Party has also announced its decision to stay away from the APC called by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister.
ANP provincial president Mian Iftikhar Hussain said that the ANP will not participate in the APC as the government has already made its decisions, and there is no point in participating in the conference.
Mian Iftikhar added that had the APC been called by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) as a political party, they would have participated.
On the other hand, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur said that the all-party conference of all political parties will be held tomorrow, and those who do not participate will show disregard for the province.
Gandapur further said that peace cannot be established without the cooperation of the people, adding that political parties will be taken into confidence through this APC.
Regarding the drone attacks in the southern districts, the chief minister said that drone attacks were unacceptable.
Responding to a question, he said the list for Senate candidates was given to Barrister Saif and Zaheer Advocate by the PTI founder, adding that the name of Irfan Saleem was removed from the list by the founder himself.
Gandapur ruled out horse trading in the Senate elections and said that the opinion of those who say Khan’s narrative is not correct does not matter.
Some people distorted the founder’s ideology, the chief minister maintained.
“The founder had clearly stated that those creating misunderstandings within the party would be removed,” he said.
It should be noted that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has called an all-party conference on July 24 over the deteriorating law and order situation in the province, and Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has sent invitations to all political parties to participate in the APC.
