After the quake in Iran, Russia was also hit by an earthquake, triggering panic among residents.

According to the German Research Center for Geosciences (GFZ), a 6.6-magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of Kamchatka in the Russian Far East on Sunday.

The German Research Center for Geosciences said the depth of the earthquake was 10 kilometers (6.21 miles).

The agency initially reported the magnitude of the earthquake at 6.2, which was later revised to 6.6.

It should be noted that earthquake tremors were also felt in northern Iran on Sunday, with a magnitude of 5.4 recorded on the Richter scale.

The earthquake struck at a depth of 10 kilometers, while its epicenter was located 31 kilometers east of the village of Qarnabad and 46 kilometers from the city of Gorgan.

Gorgan has a population of more than 244,000.
