HBL PSL 10: Quetta Gladiators to face Lahore Qalandars in title clash
The stage is set for an exhilarating finale in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025 as the Quetta Gladiators prepare to take on the Lahore Qalandars in the championship match. Scheduled for Sunday, May 25, at Lahore’s iconic Gaddafi Stadium, this final marks Quetta’s return to the PSL summit after a six-year hiatus, while Lahore aims to reclaim the title they last held in 2023.
The Lahore Qalandars earned their place in the final by defeating Islamabad United by 96 runs in the third playoff of the season on Friday at Lahore.
Qalandars’ batters put a gigantic target of 202 runs in the twenty overs. Kusal Perera scored 61 runs on 35 balls, while opener Muhammad Naeem also scored 50 runs.
United failed to reach the target by 96 runs as Qalandars’ Captain Shaheen Shah, Salman Mirza, and Rishad Hossain took three wickets each, denying the United batters to develop partnerships and keeping the momentum.
Islamabad team got all out on 107 runs in 15.1 overs while chasing the mark of 202 runs.
Quetta secured their spot in the final with a commanding 30-run victory over defending champions Islamabad United in the first playoff. All-rounder Faheem Ashraf was instrumental in this win, delivering a standout performance that propelled the Gladiators into their first final since 2019, the year they clinched their maiden PSL title.
