KP revises school timings due to severe heatwave

All schools will now open at 7:15am; change applies to all government, private schools

In view of the ongoing severe heatwave across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the provincial education department has announced revised school timings for both public and private educational institutions.

According to an official notification issued on Tuesday, the new schedule has been implemented immediately to ensure students’ health and safety during extreme weather conditions.

All schools will now open at 7:15am. Primary schools will operate from 7:15am to 11:40am. Middle and high schools will remain open from 7:15am to 12:15pm.

The education department stated that the decision was taken in consideration of the rising temperatures and to safeguard students from potential health risks associated with prolonged exposure to heat.

Pakistan braces for dust storms amid heatwave

The change applies to all government and private schools across the province. Authorities have urged schools to comply with the new schedule until further notice.
