At least 117 flee as chaos erupts at drug rehabilitation center in Karachi
A tumultuous incident unfolded at a drug rehabilitation center in Orangi Town, Karachi, when 150 individuals stormed the facility, resulting in gunfire, property damage, and the escape of 117 patients.
The incident has instilled fear and anxiety in the local community, with residents alleging that the center operates as a front for drug sales and that the patients are involved in thefts in the surrounding area.
In reaction to the situation, Sindh’s Home Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar has swiftly addressed the matter, directing the SSP West to ensure the immediate arrest of those responsible.
The police are actively investigating the incident and have initiated operations to track down the escaped individuals.
