Following the Pahalgam attack in Indian-occupied Kashmir, Indian intelligence agencies have once again intensified their campaign of targeting local Kashmiri youth through their notorious tactics.

In the aftermath of the deaths of 26 individuals, India has launched a sinister attempt to shift the blame for its glaring failures onto the Kashmiri freedom movement.

Sources reveal that Indian forces have released a list of 14 Kashmiri youths active in the districts of Anantnag, Shopian, and Pulwama, labelling them as “terrorists” without any credible evidence and planning targeted operations against them. This marks a repetition of India’s old ploy to conceal its grave human rights violations in the occupied region.

According to Indian media, the intelligence agencies have named Ehsan-ul-Haq, Adil Rehman Datoo, Haris Nazir, Nasir Ahmad Wani, and Shahid Ahmad Katte among the targeted individuals. The list includes Ahmed Sheikh, Aamir Nazir Wani, Yawar Ahmad Bhat, Asif Ahmad Kanday, Zubair Ahmad Wani, Haroon Rashid Ghani, and Zubair Ahmad Ghani.

Trump recognizes Kashmir as dispute, says India, Pakistan will resolve tensions themselves

India has levelled baseless allegations against these freedom fighters, accusing them of plotting attacks in the Valley. By branding them as terrorists, New Delhi is desperately attempting to cover up its internal failures on the international stage, continuing its tradition of conspiratorial politics.

As in the past, India has unjustifiably invoked the names of pro-freedom groups to legitimise its state-sponsored terrorism. Those named in the list are being punished simply for raising their voices against India’s illegal occupation and for their struggle for freedom.

In a further display of its hostility following the Pahalgam incident, India announced a series of baseless measures against Pakistan, including threats to revoke the Indus Waters Treaty, closure of the Attari checkpoint, and suspension of visa facilities for Pakistani nationals. These actions blatantly reflect India’s panic and are an attempt to mask its colossal security failures.

International observers have already questioned India’s heavy-handed tactics and oppressive policies. India’s narrative seeks to portray Pakistan and Kashmiri freedom fighters as the root of all problems, whereas the reality is that India’s own brutal policies and state oppression have fueled the rebellion in occupied Kashmir.
