PIA flight escapes major accident after bird strike in Lahore
Boeing 777 grounded after engine damage; over 300 passengers on board
A Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight narrowly avoided a major accident when a bird struck the aircraft while landing at Lahore Airport.
The Boeing 777, operating as flight PK-860 from Jeddah to Lahore, had over 300 passengers on board at the time of the incident.
According to sources, the bird collided with engine number 2 of the aircraft, causing significant damage. Following an inspection, the aircraft was grounded for further evaluation.
PIA’s aircraft engineers are currently conducting a detailed inspection to assess the extent of the damage and determine necessary repairs before the plane can return to service.
