Karachi experienced intense hot weather on Saturday, with temperatures reaching as high as 39.1 degrees Celsius.

The mercury around Jinnah Terminal was recorded at 39 degrees Celsius while areas like Shahrah-e-Faisal and Maripur saw temperatures climb to 38 degrees Celsius.

Experts have advised residents to take precautions against the extreme heat as the city endures the sweltering weather.

Meanwhile, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast rain, wind, and thunderstorms with snowfall over hills across various parts of the country, with occasional gaps, from March 9 (tomorrow).

“A shallow westerly wave is likely to enter northern parts of the country on March 9 [evening/night] and is expected to strengthen from March 12 and will persist till March 16,” the PMD said in its forecast

The PMD warned that tourists and travellers visiting mountainous areas are advised to remain cautious and avoid unnecessary travel from March 13 to 16.
