Police constable murdered in Tank, house burned

Police have appealed to the public to cooperate with the ongoing operation

Unknown militants attacked the home of a police constable, Akhtar Zaman, in the village of Garh Shada, Tank district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, Pakistan. The attackers set fire to Zaman’s home, completely destroying his belongings, before kidnapping him.

Following the attack, a large police contingent, led by the DSP and SHO under the instructions of District Police Officer (DPO) Tank, Aslam Nawaz Khan, launched a search operation. During the operation, Zaman’s body was discovered in nearby fields.

DPO Khan stated that operations against militants will continue to ensure peace in the area. Police have increased surveillance and urged citizens to report any suspicious activity. He added that officers have been put on high alert to prevent further militant activity and assured that the perpetrators will be apprehended and brought to justice.

Police have appealed to the public to cooperate with the ongoing operation and immediately report any suspicious activity to the authorities. The investigation into the murder and kidnapping is ongoing.
