A 10-year-old boy died after becoming trapped in an elevator in a residential building in Gulshan-e-Johar, Karachi.

According to rescue sources, the incident occurred in Gulistan-e-Johar Block 19.

The boy, identified as Kareem, son of Kamran, suffered severe head injuries when his head became lodged in the malfunctioning elevator.

Rescue teams were called to the scene and used cutting equipment to free the child. Kareem was rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition, but succumbed to his injuries during treatment.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the elevator malfunction.
