Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has condemned the attack on the Speaker of the Maldives' Parliament Mohamed Nasheed.

In a statement, he said our thoughts and prayers are with Speaker Nasheed and we wish him and all others injured in the attack a speedy recovery.

The Speaker of the Maldives Parliament had sustained injuries in a blast outside his home in the capital Male and is currently receiving treatment at hospital.
